Those figs you did would be great for masses of army guys, I'd do characters and generals and such with a bit more effort but for regular gaming figures it really does well.

Nobody caries minwax here so I'm going to try another brand. I'll try to post some figs in the mini thread.

Flexor, I got my minwax at Walmart. You have to hunt around for it yourself as the staff probably have no idea what you are looking for.

I was one of the lucky few that won a full set, just received them last night!

I have to say, the paint jobs look much better in person than they do in the pics. The skeletons still look a little "unfinished", but the orces, the Ogre, and the Minotaur are fantastic.

These look MUCH better than the DDM's. Of course, the sculpts are going to be superior since their identical to the metal figs, but the paint jobs really are good. I'm actually surprised by how well they turned out considering they're mass produced. I like that I can get a cheap, painted Ogre that doesn't look like a vaugely humanoid dog turd.

They come in blisters like the regular metal figs....but no swag points. At least not on the ones I received!

The Ogre and the Minotaur were the real standouts I thought. They all looked good but those two were top notch. A lot better than any of the DDM stuff I've bought.

That's an odd statement to make.

Take the quote in context - it was made in reference to the folks that were 'downing' the figs by comparing them to DDM and their 'usability'. So actually, no, it isn't odd.

The pictures on the reaper website do suggest a real washed out faint look to the paintwork that does make the figures quite disappointing.

If the paint is darker in person, that may make them a little better. However, if anyone does dip their figures, could you please post your results. Would be very interested in seing how they go

I think the lighting was too bright in thier website pics. The Minotaur really looks sweet in person. So did the Ogre.
