Reaper's Legendary Encounters, August 6th

Yep... that's pretty much all there is to it.

I actually tried the dipping process myself a while ago (after seeing it mentioned by Pogre) - and recorded my progress in the following thread if that's any help:

Anyway, back on topic... :)

I think the reason that some folks might be a little disappointed with this batch of mini's is because of Reaper's own high standards... i.e. they are well known for their great miniatures, and as such, some folks might have been expecting something special from their pre-painted line (I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't hoping this would be the case :) ).

My own thoughts are that they don't look so bad - sure they are not great, but I think I'll reserve my final judgement until I have one in my hands to compare (side by side) with other pre-paitned lines.

Those figs you did would be great for masses of army guys, I'd do characters and generals and such with a bit more effort but for regular gaming figures it really does well.

Nobody caries minwax here so I'm going to try another brand. I'll try to post some figs in the mini thread.

While looking for the Minwax "Tudor" color in my travels (and failing), I picked up a flier that stated that Minwax is coming out with a "Black" stain. Of course, I haven't actually seen this one yet, but if anyone else has, I'd be curious to see which stain colors work best, the Walnut, Tudor or Black.

I bought the Minotaur today and it looks awesome. No need for any touch ups at all.

I thought they weren't out for another week yet? How'd you manage that?

Could you at least throw us a pic or something?

I've got an extensive network of contacts...

Actually I went in to by some Warhammer figs since they are clearing them out of that location and the dude said he got a box of them in today. He had the full line that is out so far. I lack a digital camera so I can't do a pic unfortunately. The pics on their site are accurate, in person the minotaur seems a tad bit darker so it has good definition. Good paintjob on this one, I didn't look through the blisters of the other figs as closely though since I was already spending enough on Warhammer stuff and didn't want to temp myself.

It's a part of the blister, usually just behind the name of the figure, that says "Proof of Purchase, 1 Swag Point". Think Kool-Aid Points.

Don't know. I pitched the blister pack right after I opened it. It may have but I wasn't looking for it. What is it for?
