Recharging Magic Items?

Is it possible to recharge a charged magical item (such as a wand), or do you have to buy a new one? Someone suggested to me that it would fall under the same rules for repairing the item, but I'm not sure if that is allowed.

By the rules - buy a new one. A half-charged wand isn't broken - it's functioning exactly as it was supposed to. No half-price refills!

not as cheap

I wouldn't use the same rules as repairing an item- that costs half the gold & xp as the original and the repairer needs to be able to make a new version of the item. If you use these rules you get a new wand for half off when you've drained it. I don't know if there are specific rules for recharging, but there are spells that will allow you to use charged items without expending charges and I'm pretty sure there's an item out there that'll stick onto a charged item and use its charges rather than that of the item when the item is activated.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's pretty much what I was thinking, but I thought I would make sure.

i believe there is some kind of crystal in the magic of faerun book that can recharge wands and staves. other then that
i dont think wands or staves can be recharged.

Dwarven something-or-other? Aren't they minor artifacts?
