I'm at the post-production point of a film (ok, more like a video), and a friend of mine has a DVD burner. He's been burning things as data-DVDs, but when he tried to use his program to burn an .avi so it can be played by most (if not all) standard DVD players, the program that he uses fails. He can't get more than an hour onto a DVD.
My cousin used to do this, too (before his burner broke), and he had no problems like these.
