Its clearly not going for 'gritty realism', its over the top Fantasy.

Looks and sounds like every lazy, cookie-cutter actioner, with mid CG and...was that a truck? I'll wait until it's in syndication, watch it once, and probably forget it. Pretty disappointed.

Looks significantly less awful than I expected. Appreciated the sort of faux-stop-motion vibes of the giant monster at the end, hopefully an intentional callback to the classics.

Lots of historical records of folks and entire armies mostly skipping the whole armor thing. Zulus, Britons, American Indians, etc. The Spartans and Greeks were fairly uncovered in the 300 movies.

I really am getting rather tired of the current era RPG and movie practice of "Any exposed skin other then face and fingers is too much."

At least this movie so far is planned for theater release instead of some random streaming outlet.

And lets be honest, its not like movie armor is worth a damn anyway. How often have we seen someone stab someone with a sword right through their middle breastplate in a movie!

I still think its hilarious that one of the best depictions of armor has been in the comedy A Knight's Tale of all things
