Hi, all.
I like 4e, for the most part. My biggest turn off, however, is the absurd length of combat (YMMV, of course). I'm trying to figure out a way to speed it up without monkeying around with too much, and the only thing I can think of is to reduce monster hit points, by around half.
It seems to me that in order to keep things interesting and dangerous, I would also have to reduce PC hit points. But by how much? Do they start with half of what they normall would and then only receive a much reduced amount? That seems almost punitive and perhaps dangerous considering some of the monster powers. 3/4?
Have any of you experimented with this at all?
Thanks!
