Refocus combo - legal?

Refocus doesn't allow you to take any actions during your round. Haste gives you an extra partial action but doesn't allow you to break rules. It just allows you to do more during your round.

NO. Refocus requires a full round action. There is a difference.

Oh -- I see! Sorry I misunderstood. Yeah, it technically looks legal. If a player could describe to me what their PC thought they were doing (i.e., describe their actions without game terms), i'd allow it: the advantage doesn't seem severe. But if they can't describe it in non-game-terms, I would forbid it, just like I'd forbid any other action that can only be described in game terms.

My players are creative, so I'd probably end up allowing it.

It's a special full-round action. Read the FAQ: "When you refocus, you spend your entire round refocusing; you cannot act or move."

Even if you are entitled to extra partial actions (from haste or whatever), you cannot take them in a round during which you refocus.
