Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

Yep, thats what I got. I actually had five items in my cart, but it wouldn't let me check out for over half an hour. This sucks!

Ditto here; I actually got all 7 events into my cart, only to have my sign-in time out after an hour.

Mebbe the cart'll be still alive in their system when I log back on. :P

To quote David Byrne: "Same as it ever was, same as it ever was..."

me too. kicked me out.
My favorite part is how it tells me I'm not logged in (and so I can't access a cart), but when I try to go to the sign in screen, it tells me I'm ALREADY logged in! Would I like to log out?

I wonder if the guy who programs this beast has to hide in a hardened bunker deep beneath the earth to keep from getting murdered by vengeful nerds carrying functional lightsabers and surgical-steel replicas of the Highlander sword?

What gets me is:

They are aware of these problems.
We get this whole list of "why it fails"
They tell us what they're going to do.
If you offer suggestions, they bristle and say "We know what they're doing"
If you offer other possibilities (I am a IT Director and have setup complete systems FROM SCRATCH), they get annoyed.

BUT EVERY YEAR - THE SAME THING.
NO STRESS TESTING, NO LOAD BALANCING, NOTHING!!

It's easier to do this via snail mail like in the old days.

I faxed in my registration to the last two Gen Cons I attended. I only got three of the five games I registered for, but otherwise it worked like a charm.
