Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

I acknowledge your point. You don't have to spend all the money the 1st year. You can do a 2 or 3 year upgrade. But don't trumpet all the "changes" you're making and have it fail EXACTLY the same way as last year.

Come, come now. It isn't exactly the same sort of failure as last year. Okay, we're all stuck trying to register, true, but last year, I wasn't even able to get into the system, let alone trying to get to add something to my cart. That's different, right?

The idea of Cheney as a gamer trying to register his Gen Con events just cracks me up to no end...

What gets me is:

They are aware of these problems.
We get this whole list of "why it fails"
They tell us what they're going to do.
If you offer suggestions, they bristle and say "We know what they're doing"
If you offer other possibilities (I am a IT Director and have setup complete systems FROM SCRATCH), they get annoyed.

BUT EVERY YEAR - THE SAME THING.
NO STRESS TESTING, NO LOAD BALANCING, NOTHING!!

It's easier to do this via snail mail like in the old days.

Has anyone successfully registered for anything? I'd feel perversely better if I knew that NO ONE was getting anything in.

I couldn't even get IN until 3:55. Couldn't log in until until 4:20. Just got to the 'add events' page - can't add anything. I tried 5 at a time, now I'm trying 1 at a time.

Oh yeah. Read them all. When the tech guy left his phone number, I actually called and offered to help for per diem and travel ONLY- Got the "Don't call us, we'll call you" answer.
