I know the specialty priests were a mess and such, but the "Faiths and Avatars" threesome for 2nd edition are still some of my all-time favorite game books. So much great background material...
One thing I hope they'll clarify --- in second edition FR, there was quite a bit of leeway when it came to being a cleric of another race's god. According to Demihuman Deities, you'd have the occasional dwarf worshipping Helm, or gnome getting spells from a dwarf god, and so forth. Sage Advice suggested a while back that the general rule is still in effect for the Realms --- I'd like to see it officially switched.
Also, I'd like to see some more exceptions to the paladin/monk multiclassing restrictions, where appropriate. Paladin/sorceror of Mystra just seems like such a natural. The Knights of the Mystic Fire...
