IIRC most of the 5e adventure books are ahead of Pathfinder books on Amazon, even some of the old ones.

Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden #1,527
Curse of Strahd: #2,607
Tales From the Yawning Portal: #3,706
Waterdeep: Dragon Heist #4,006
Descent Into Avernus #4,432
Ghosts of Saltmarsh: #5,533
Waterdeep: Mad Mage: #5,800
Tomb of Annihilation: #7,445
Hoard of the Dragon Queen: #7,725
Out of the Abyss: #8,297
Storm King's Thunder: #8,719
Rise of Tiamat: #9,555
Princes of the Apocalypse #13,782

So yes, as of this moment, every WOTC 5e adventure book is outselling on Amazon all Pathfinder books, except one. That one is Princes of the Apocalypse (2 left in stock), which itself is still outselling all other Pathfinder books on Amazon except for the PF2 Core book itself.

Even though I play 5e and not PF2 I really would have loved for PF2 to be much closer to 5e. Could have been interesting. Oh well.
Me too. If nothing else, I've played some PF adventures in 5e. They're a good company, with high quality content. And strong competition is good for the marketplace in general.

Though, it should be mentioned again that we really don't know what PF sales are. We just know what their sales are on Amazon, and how many virtual tabletop games are listed as PF on the major platforms, and what their sales roughly look like from retail before Covid shut down most stores. Which is meaningful data, but it's not everything. Particularly since that data excludes their direct sales, which are also meaningful.

I doubt Paizos direct sales makes much of an impact on the Amazon numbers. I do agree we don’t have solid figures and probably never will. So maybe they do.

they posted their subscriber numbers once, and someone looked at about how many were core book subscribers and it was a tiny fraction of Amazon projected sales. Also there are many third party sources for the PHB. Amazon itself picked a third party for their Amazon’s Choice badge for the PHB. And that is in the 11 hundreds of board games. Which I agree is had to reconcile with “books”.

The pocket edition also just released at half the price of the Hardcover. I think rather than look at Amazon’s sales we should be looking at the increase in users running games on Virtual Tabletops. Nothing will approach D&D any time soon so that’s also an unfair comparison with the explosion of D&D due to streaming so how is it compared to other games?
