Rel's Faded Glory Campaign (Thank You Old One!)

I hate Kobolds

Hey Rel just wanted to stop i and say Hi :) also I have just caught up on the post and just let me say OMG, you are hardcore Rel, lol. Just wanted to compliment Speaks on his plan with the everflowing bottle, that is wicked, to bad the little buggers got the bottle before they had a chance to test their swimming prowess :p the introduction of Scar is cool as well, hopefully he cn add a little needed firepower to the group (he does have cleave right ?). Well great job and I gotta say you certainly installed a new and healthy respect for kobolds in me :) To the players "Kill Em All", LOL I don't want those litle buggers bredding and moving on to other places (like Broc's world :() hehe, great post and keep it up.

You hate Kobolds, I hate Kobolds, We all hate Kobolds!

Hey, Malachi_rose - don't encourage him! Rel is quite enough for us to handle as it is without you folks egging him on.

Rel - your place in the RBDM(tm) hall of shame.. *cough*cough*..fame (I said fame, really, didn't you hear me? Fame, fame, I tell you!) is assured already; no need to gild the lily.

As far as the lovable half-orc, Scar does not, in fact, have the cleave feat. Yet. He'll pop a level at the end of next session (assuming, of course, that he lives through it), and then has the difficult decision of which two feats to pick up. Cleave and mobility are my top two contenders right now, though.

clarification :)

Lol, I was reading my post and your reply TLC and I wanted to clarify, hehe. When I said "Kill Em All" I meant I hoped yall would kill all them pesky kobolds, lol not Rel killin yall :( Yep as a player I gotta root for the hometeam so to speak :D Anyways keep up the good work and it's just my opinion but Cleave is the way to go, especially wih pesky little critters like kobolds and orcs and such. Well lookin forward to seeing how yall did in your quest for kobold smackdown :p

It's an honor just to be considered a RBDM. But to be elected to the Hall of FAME, and by one of my own players. *sniff* This is an unexpected honor indeed.

Well, I'd like to thank all the little people without whom this wouldn't have been possible. When I say "little people", I am of course referring to the Kobolds. Their tireless work on my behalf cannot be overstated. They have consistently outperformed my expectations.

Just as one example, special thanks to the pair of 1st level Kobold rogues who guarded the exit of the mine and killed Rhys without even trying and put Raven unconscious in the same round. That kind of work ethic is really hard to find in monsters anymore. But hey, that's what Lawful Evil is all about: Working together to kill adventurers in the spirit of cooperation and brotherhood!

Ladies and Gentlemen, let's give the Kobolds a big round of applause! *cheers*

I thought you were going to get Mobility and Spring Attack? Not that it really matters. I would also agree that Cleave is very cool. But Spring Attack seems cool too (although we have yet to see it in action while Cleave's efficacy is beyond reproach).

I guess we'll see after next session. Provided you survive of course. Now that I'm a "Hall of Famer", I have a reputation to maintain.

APPLAUSE

Well Rel, I am very proud of the little scaletails and doggyheads too. I couldn't have done better! (At least my players hope so)

Just a few more ideas... kobolds are known for their delicate traps. Right here on this board was a nice long discussion how to screw, erhm CHALLENGE a group of 12+ lvl heroes with kobolds. I think there have been a lot of nice ideas... though that kobold tribe looks rather annihilated now. But there may be a tribe in the mines next door too ?

Rel,
I'm glad that we can exchange ideas as DM's. Thanks for much inspiration into how to better use those little dragon dogs.

Really liked the last post and kudos to Speaks for really being patient and then letting the house down on the kobolds. Can't wait to see the next chain of events.

Thanks for all the comments as usual. We play again tonight and I feel pretty confident that we are going to wrap up this segment of the campaign and move on to some really exciting stuff in the near future.

I also wanted to mention that The Lone Corndog (Player of Rhys and now Scar) came up with a really cool spreadsheet that works in tandem with the XP system I use. I got lots of comments about the system before and I don't know if any of you decided to actually use it. If you do use it, I think you would enjoy looking at the spreadsheet.

Basically, it compares my XP method with the baseline method from the DMG. It lets you play with the variable factors like the "Average Marks per player per session" and the XP Multiplier to tweak things so that you get the rate of level gain that you want for your campaign.

Anyhow, if you would like me to send you a copy of the spreadsheet, just post here or send me an e-mail.

Rel,
I'd appreciate a copy of the spreadsheet. While I'm not running a campaign right now, I think I might use an alternative XP system when I start up again and yours has a lot of cool elements.

Send to km4101@netzero.net. Thanks.

P.S. Looking forward to the culmination of the current plotline! (just in time to start a new thread!)
