Rel's Faded Glory Campaign (Thank You Old One!)

Too bad elves and dwarves aren't that scarce in your Faded Glory as in Old Ones, Rel, ... would love to see one of Old Ones players come back as elf. THAT would be fun. You are something you've never seen and noone else has since years.

Actually, Darklone, elves are extremely rare in the northlands for reasons about to be revealed. Most of the people of Glynden have never seen an elf with the exception of Tadius Silvanus, the elven wizard/merchant who has helped equip the party in the past.

Now that Rhys has come back as an elf, many of the folk of Glynden (especially his girlfriend, Isabeau) are more than a little wierded out about it.

I've been getting almost non-stop feedback from the players over the weekend about the expositional material I've provided them with. So this week, I should be able to put up several beefy updates on what has happened during the down time.

Stay Tuned...

Whew! Hey Rel, finally caught up again. I didn't realize how far behind I'd become while I was concentrating on my story hour.

I'm impressed. You're running quite the campaign here. The tactics the kobolds employed were stunning. I must say that even though I was very sad to see both Krase and Rhys go, Scar and Raven both look to be interesting indeed. It got me to thinking of what I would do if I don't survive Frog's temple.

Keep up the good work my friend. I'm interested in seeing how the good people of Glynden take the death of two of the Heroes of the North and the subsequent reincarnation of one.

Hah, so elves ARE rare too in your part of the setting :)? Cool! I like the way this goes for Rhys.

Have you rolled openly on the reincarnate table or did you fudge :)? I mean, rolled secretly...

Rhys' player himself rolled the dice. Even though Speaks' player cast the spell, he didn't want to make the roll. He figured that if Rhys came back as a badger or something, he didn't want to be responsible for that.

I sure wasn't going to roll the dice. I've tried to limit the amount of dice rolling I do in this campaign. I consistently roll less than a 4, regardless of what die I roll. Take 10 has become my mantra.

I was secretly hoping that he'd come back as a bird of some kind (can you say, "Red Breasted Nut Hatch?"). An intelligent, smooth talking companion that could handle all of my scouting, spying and speechifying needs would be most beneficial. And he wouldn't even count towards my animal companion maximum. What a bargain!

As to upcoming events, I was certainly hoping for a little more down time than we got. Speaks is somewhat tired of the fighting and killing and wishes to embrace life so to speak. This would allow a lot of spell research (Rel requires this time to pick up spells from the companion books), item crafting, animal companion drafting, foraging for herbs, and spending some quality time with my wolf pack.

As it turns out, events have turned rather sour back home and I believe Speaks may be on the verge of yet another rampage. <Sigh> All I want is a little peace and quiet, but nooooo.

:D

Bah, if Rhys would have come back as a badger, simply kill him again and ... :D

Alright, pal - this kind of help, I don't need :D. Losing one level is quite sufficient, thanks.

And Speaks speaks true; he has the worst luck with the dice that I have seen in a long time. No way was he gonna roll to see what Rhys 'came back' as. The elf was all me. I was *this* close to coming back as a centaur. Of course, if I had, I wouldn't gain another level for the rest of the campaign.....Ah, well, elves is OK :p.

Hehehehe

*grumbles something about kobolds aren't on that list...*

Well, that reincarnate list doesn't match too well with many other things..... Ever had a fighter come back as wolverine?

About luck with dice: Ask Quickbeam or Dougal about their dice exorcisms. But alas... I know such things. Last few times as a player, I rolled really bad. Died even after not making one roll for 15 tries in a row... (How many reflex saves can you fail with a +12 against a lvl3 wizard?)

At least as DM I still roll good. (is there a RBDM smiley?)

Back from the dead........

Come on TLC we all really know that you were secretly wanting to come back as the Pixie. :D

I think I've had about enough downtime myself, no more cash, no more experience....yep it's time to go smite some evil. Not to mention life just got realll interesting in this little town of theirs......

Raven.

Holy crap! In the last four posts THREE have been from my players! Is there some kind of celestial alignment today that I don't know about?

I was just checking in to mention that I should have some kind of update by Thursday. We play again tonight and so I'll (hopefully) know how some of the expositional story lines I've introduced will have played out.

By the way, I seem to be coming down with a cold.

The good news is that we will still be playing tonight (The game must go on!).

The bad news is I might be in a foul mood and kill the whole party if they piss me off.

Exciting, isn't it? :D
