Clearly it terminates all aspects of the agreement except that one. This is not unusual, in fact in some ways it is the default- if you and I enter into a contract and I make payments to you under that contract, and later we cancel the contract, I don't automatically get all my money back.

Probably, but maybe not. That probably depends on all kinds of things such as the jurisdiction, etc. Which is why that sort of thing is generally spelled out in the terms of the contract, to avoid any ambiguity.

Its not the same. Your example involves a breached contract. The GSL hypothetical involves a revoked license.
