I noted that someone complained that the GenCon presentation's Beholder virtual mini lacked one eye-tendril, and that got me realizing something...

...What would cause a Beholder to get an eye removed? The removal of one of it's eye-rays. And what would be a valid cause for removing one of a Beholder's eye-rays? Perhaps the removal of a redundant spell..

So here's my theory: Charm Monster and Charm Person have been combined into a single Charm spell, capable of affecting both "people" and "monsters"...
