Reposting Original Work

I'm not a Mod, but common sense tells me that :

1) If it is still available where it was originally posted, than direct an interested party there

2) If it was once available, but has been removed, it may have been removed for a reason ( like he has a project coming out and has agreed to remove previously availiable files per an arrangement with a publisher - this is a common occurance )

3) If number one above is not an option, don't repost without permission ( but what you do on email is your own affair )

Without any consultation with the other mods, my first instinct is that if it was posted in a public thread then (with proper attribution) it's fair game to repost.

Frankly, I'm trying to remember if Dragoth was banned.

The files I have are in HTML, so they must have come off a web-site. I don't know which one. But the original enquiry refers to a discussion on these boards.

The files I have say they were last modified in September 2001, so the thread must be about that vintage- it seems to have been lost in the various board reshufflings.

If we are talking about "Dragoth the Destroyer", he was indeed banned.

IIRC, someone from the boards continued on Dragoth's work and posted it to his website.

It's been posted as a zipped attachment in the thread mentioned above. Moderators are encouraged to delete the post if this contravenes a board policy.

Thanks for the heads up. We'll delete it if anyone complains, but I think we're okay. We appreciate you being careful on this.
