D&D 5E Request for Warlock feature suggestions!

Building off of my earlier "A Warlock Without Spells" thread (D&D 5E - A Warlock Without Spells?) we are moving forward with the idea.

However, instead of just granting more invocations, we are exploring the idea of creating new features for the class.

So, does anyone have any suggestions for Warlock-related features, generic enough to not build on particular patrons?

EDIT: To be clearer... I would like suggestions for the CORE class for features, nothing that is patron-oriented and depending on the subclass. Thanks.

I want to see warlocks that have a real patron with real effect. Id actually love to see a by patron debuff of some sort. Or at least rules to be followed like the Paladins code.

Maybe a Fey warlock has to be vegetarian, or better yet only eat meat. Sounds like its not a big deal until they need to eat some magic berries. Or a demon warlock could collect souls for its master, every time they get someone to willfully sign away their soul they get a charge that can be used to.... something.

Anything that makes the warlock a warlock and not just another type of caster.

Well, thanks, but you really aren't getting the intent of this thread:

New features for warlocks which are not patron specific but are general class features and (from the prior thread) warlocks are not going to have the spellcasting feature. They still have some spells, but are not casters and lack spell slots.

I am understanding the intent of the thread but you asked me to suggest something and I gave you what first came to mind. In the same way that a by the book warlock gets spells based on their pact I would like to see a warlock that gets some sort of meaningful story focused effect based on their pact. Something that makes them feel warlock-y.

If by not pact specific you meant, has nothing to do with their pact. Then really your asking for me to assume a pact because the entire warlock fantasy is the pact. I could suggest that all warlocks, for example, have fire resistance but that only makes sense for demonic warlocks. Better to say the have resistance to a element based on their pact, which isn't a pact specific feature it is only effected by the pact.

I didn't suggest anything about them casting spells either mind.
