I'm planning to run this module with my group, probably as an intro to RHoD; and a good "ongoing review" was lost during the crash...

So now I'm asking for experiences with the module; be as succing or eloquent as you wish.

I've reposted my "ongoing review" here:
http://merricb.multiply.com/reviews/item/6

I have now run the adventure since reviewing it; it proved to be a memorable and solid adventure. I adapted it from the Forgotten Realms to Greyhawk without much trouble, and the PCs were soon enmeshed in the schemes of the orogs and fighting to protect their homeland.

There are three encounters in it that are quite difficult - two of the bosses and the epilogue encounter. Three of my PCs died during the adventure, and I ran it with a group of 6 PCs, but I wouldn't say that those encounters were unjustifiably difficult, but rather my players blundered in their tactics.

As a DM, you do need to be provide reactive tactics for the orcs in the citadel (and surrounds), for my group certainly couldn't do it all in one shot - nor are your likely to! Although the adventure gives some provision for sneaking in, there is likely to be quite some combat. (Especially with my group, with a combined Charisma modifier of about -1! It had improved by the end of the adventure thanks to replacement PCs!)

The web enhancement for SoG makes it into an 8th level adventure, IIRC.

Cheers!
