Is it the power, the flavor, the sheer reserveness?
Nope...in fact reserve feats could be the crappiest thing to come out of WOTC to date, I don't know, but that's not important.
What's important is that WOTC is proving to us that there's still plenty of 3e yet to be explored. For a while it seemed like every book was new feat, new magic item, new PRC.
But lately, WOTC has been pushing the mechanics in new ways.
Reserve Feats, Immediate and Swift Spells, Channeled Spells, Tactical Feats, etc.
Let me just say that I'm very happy to see WOTC not sitting on its heels and throwing out books, but they are putting some concerted effort in pushing the horizons of the game.
