Resist energy + shield other

Hi there.

I have a question regarding these two spells.

Shield other splits damage (even spell damage) between two sources.

If both sources also have resist energy, does the resistance or DR apply twice?

Say that two subject have resist fire 10, and have a shield other.

If one takes 50 points of fire damage, the damage splits to 25 each. Is this damage reduced by 10 EACH, so that both creatures take only 15 damage?

What about if the damage is physical damage and both creatures have DR?

No.

If the (primary) target takes 50 points of fire damage, it is reduce to 40 points of damage by the resist energy.

It is then evenly divided: both take 20 points of damage.

Note that the damage to the caster of shield other is untyped, so you cannot protect against it.

Same goes for DR: substract for (primary) target, then divide over the two.
