D&D 5E (2014) Resisted skill checks !!!

For the Intimidate check, what I'd do for sustained effect is the standard target-makes-save-check every round vs the original Intimidate result. Keeps the player from having to re-roll, and lets them keep a good initial result. Kind of simulates the whole "collecting yourself" thing to get over a scary experience, and that's how most of the spell and poison and whatnot saves work; you just keep making save checks until you pass or you die.
