Restoration, Lesser - or no more 'armoured pyjamas'

Okay, just spotted this after, oh say 7 years, but anyhoo.

Q. Does the divine lesser restoration spell effectively allow the party paladin & cleric to sleep in their fullplate and then refresh themselves right as rain the next morning?

Next Q. Does the same spell allow characters to stay up all night?

I know arcane types must rest 8hrs, that's non-negotiable, but it looks like my paladin can do the 24hr crawl no worries... :D

The answer to your first question would be 'Yes'. Since sleeping in armor results in fatigue and Lesser Restoration removes that, it's valid thing to do if you have the spell slot to spare.

Can't say the same about the going without sleep. Is lack of sleep even addressed in the rules? I'd say you'd be exhausted after a night without sleep, and Lesser Restoration would move that to fatigued.

He he, yeah, I think you're right. Good thing the party is levels 10-11 with no shortage of paladin 1 and cleric 2 spells.

Good bye armoured pyjamas and hello 2 man watches. :)

SO, you figured out how to make armored pajamas but didn't realize how easy it was to remove fatigue?

Necessity is the mother of invention I guess...

Heal does it a lot quicker, if you have need of such haste. Panacea (sp?) does it quicker, for a lower slot than Heal.

Oh, and a Paladin's special mount becomes an awesome courier service with Heal Mount. Force march for a week? No problem. ;)

From the WotC help database (if desired):
"The rules are silent on not sleeping at all, but based on the penalties you receive from a night of uncomfortable rest (page 122 of the 3.5 Player's Handbook, under Sleeping with Armor Worn) a Dungeon Master could assume that not sleeping at all could have some pretty hefty penalties. One house rule could be that the person becomes exhausted after not sleeping an entire night. But of course, since there are no rules covering this situation, it is ultimately up to the Dungeon Master of your campaign to determine how he/she wants to handle a character who hasn't slept."

No, that's just it. 7 years and only realised it now as I was reading all the available paladin spells for my character.

I'm the only one in my group that reads and usually I dm, so why would I care about making life easier for the pc's? ;)
