Restoration Spells for -levels

HI,

My group has recently finished the section of Digging for Lies and two of the party were resurrected by the VOR.

Both players want to get restored so I am trying to think what to do. One asked me if they could get a restoration in Bole and I told them it would take them a couple of days which the investigation couldn't afford.

The two questions are: How much money should they be charged for each restore and do they need to use a favor with the Clergy.

Honestly, if I had considered the requirement for restoration in Pathfinder after being brought back from the dead, I would have explicitly noted that the PC doesn't have negative levels. The 'inability to stomach fresh food' and 'puke up a white snake when you fall unconscious' are more interesting consequences, in my opinion, especially since we intentionally made the ziggurat a death trap to try to force some PCs to die and get brought back under the Voice of Rot's influence.

If you don't want to just ignore the rules, you could say that the RHC has an old collection of restoration scrolls, which were given to them as part of the intermittent exchange with the Unseen Court. They've been sitting around for ages, since no RHC agent has been raised from the dead since the organization was established. Maybe charge however much the cost to hire a caster is to cast them safely, which is, what, spell level x caster level x 10? So 280 apiece?

280 is low

Each casting would have to be over a grand due to the spell component of 1000gp in diamond dust. To be fair, the one character decided to not upgrade his sword to magical back before the adventure began and has made his life difficult because of it. Although it was kind of cool to tell him his critical hit with almost maximum damage didn't do anything.

So it would be a favor with the Unseen Court, which level favor would that be?

Well, my suggestion was that they already have a scroll lying around, and the cost of the material component is included in the scroll cost. The favor would be a Risur favor, probably level 3, to get a 7th level spellcaster to use the scroll.

But that's me. I understand death needs to be a real threat or else the stakes go way down, but I also don't want to punish PCs for dying when that that was what the adventure wanted them to do.
