ObTopic: As fun as playing can be, it can't help but look completely geeky from an observer's POV. Thus, IMHO, any ads featuring reaction shots of players' faces is bound to fail.

It's easy to tell who the players are. they are the ones with the character sheets. Oops, only one person has a character sheet. :D

The commercial didn't show us what happened the next week when Jami Gertz' character got poisoned and the DM declared her DEAD!

Sarah Jessica Parker came over to find her strung up doing the hangman's dance....

Man, that was like the best episode of Square Pegs EVAR!

Does anybody remember that Maytag commercial where the geeky guy runs into Adriana Lima, they fall in love, and he gives her a Players Handbook?

It made me want to buy a Dishwasher

Welcome to the boards!

It wasn't that bad, was it? I've seen plenty of worse commercials. Just the other day for example. I don't really watch TV, only the occasional glimpse when I wander in on a session of Worship of the Square God family members or friendy are attending. Haven't had my own TV (or TV-able PC) for years now. And commercials were one of the main reasons for it.

Whenever I watch commercials, it takes about two or three spots until one comes that makes me wanna put the guy who made this against a nice, solid wall, and that's on a good day.

They should have a commercial with a bunch of hot model women playing the game, and after a big roll the all start kissing.

You're onto something here. You could pack it chock full with innuendo.

"Hey, handsome, do you mind if I check for... secret doors?"
"You wandered into my threatened area. I get an attack of opportunity on you. I grapple."
"I cast dominate person on you, you have to do what I say."

Slap a slogan on that like: "Dungeons and Dragons: suitable for *all* kinds of roleplaying. Wink wink nudge nudge!" And they have to triple their production. ;)

That girls looks a bit younger then 19-20.

"She said she was 19-20, I sear! She just looks younger!"

Anyone hear the "Win the Treasure" comment mentioned by the elf at the end? I barely heard it and I had to watch the commercial again to actually hear it as I missed it the first time.
