I have the TC and EE of all thats out so far, getting both TC and EE RotK. Different movies, different features on the DVD's.

I'd figured the Extended edition wouldn't be out until Christmas time. If the regular edition was being released in may, they wouldn't put the EE out until at least 3 months later. At that point you are coming up on the christmas buying season, when people are more likely to pick up $75 gift sets, so they'd just hold off on it until nearer the present buying frenzy.

I am very happy that they will be adding the Mouth of Sauron back into the EE. That was always one of my favorite scenes. Pity they couldn't do the scene in the bar when the returning battle hardened hobbits face down "Sharky's" thugs.

Oh well. It was probably going to be during the Christmas break that I hosted the big ole EE marathon at my house anyway (although now that my neighbor has a projector TV and surround sound...) so anytime before Christmas would probably mean it'd sit on the shelf waiting until Christmas anyway.

Plus, my kids need to have something obvious to pick up for me for Christmas. :)

I really want "the ultimate special edition" with all the 3 extended films in it. After that, I can die happily.

Ugh. I STILL haven't seen ROTK. I'm waiting for the EE release. :(

(For the reason why, let's just say I have the attention span of a hummingbird. I like being able to pause movies for minutes or hours at a time--or even stop it, and return to the same chapter, days later--and I like having movies start when I want them to start... Neither of which theaters--or pay-per-view channels--do to cater to me.)

Harrumph! :)
