So let's get this out of the way... and then I'll go update the IC.

[sblock=Templeton's Night on the Town] The party was in full swing, and the Inn of the Welcome Wench was vibrating from floor boards to ceiling rafters due to he crowds. It was then when Templeton realized he wouldn't be missed and headed towards the back of the common room. People gave him a nod, expecting he was one of the Captain's crew due to his sitting at the Captain's table, but no one approached the rogue (or those that tried wrinkled their noses and moved on), and let him pass into the kitchens unmolested.
Thesmell of fresh bread and steaming sausages filled the room and compieted with the pugnet odor of the skinny man in his mangy clothing. Mistress Gundigoot was conducting the servants, cooks, and pot-boys like a maestro as she stood in the center of the room giving orders and stirring stews herself. Templeton slides a couple of ready links into his coat without anyone noticing before slipping out the backdoor quietly.
An orchard grew behind the inn in nice neat rows and Templeton naturally followed them away from the building until he came to the little creek that ran straight through the town. A couple nights ago when he drove a cart to the teamster's he knew a bridge crossed the creek and he headed to it. Stopping behind the trunk of an apple tree he watched as a leather clad warrior walked down the path and over the bridge to be joined by a man with an axe and wearing chainmail coming up from the opposite direction. The exchanged a bit of talk the rogue was to far away to hear, then they both continued down the way each was headed before. Taking an apple down Templeton munched on the fruit and waited. Sure enough both men came back down the road (this time the chainmail warrior crossing the bridge) said a word or two to the other than continued on.
Curious as to what was going on the sneaky rogue dashed quietly towards the bridges as both men's backs were to it. He slipped down the bank and into the cold water without a splash and then waited under the bridge for the (obvious) guardsmen to return. When he head the boots thinking on the planks Templeton stood perfectly still hardly taking a breath.

"Well met. All is still clear not a soul is out tonight," one man said with a bored tone.

"Everyone's at that party," a second voice replied. "Be busy soon as everyone heads for home, so stay alert."

The two men parted and Templeton waited a full minute before crossing under the bridge and moving up the bank on the other side. This brought him to almost the front door of the trading post, and a smile broke the rogue's lips at his good fortune. But he didn't want to go straight in the front door and headed instead to the stables beside the building, figuring on seeing if their was a backdoor.
Hopping the fence to the stable yard was no trouble and as Templeton knelt inside the yard near the fence he looked about carefully to make sure no one was out watering the horses. No humanoid was present, but plenty of animals were. A chicken coop was to the right near the far wall, which also looked to hold doves and pigeons in their small pens. A couple pigs laid in a small enclosed area in the corner on the left, both looked to be sleeping peacefully. Templeton almost wished he could curl up beside them for a good night of sleep. But instead he crept towards the gate across the yard, that connected both buildings.

*ROFF* *ROFF* *ROFF*

*grrrrrrr*

Beside the horse stalls was an enclosed kennel that had only small holes in the box like cage. At first Templeton though it was a feed or tack box, but now he had two angry hounds making a racket that could wake the village, or at the least bring the wondering guards on the road.
*ROFF*

"SHUT UP!" an angry voice cries from the back of the house. The yelling seems to aggravate the hounds and they bay louder than before. "You mutt's are going to get it now!" the voices says at it draws closer and Templeton moves quickly to hide behind the kennels. "Going to whip that noise right out of you both!" the voices says from behind the gate that starts to shake as if someone is struggling to open it. Quickly the rogue reaches in his pocket and pulls out both sausages. Knowing it may stop them he pauses only a second as whoever is at the gate will see him for sure as it is only about four feet high. Thinking he could move fast enough and hide on the other side the rogue makes his move. Knelt low he passes in front of the kennels dropping a sausage into each as he moves to the far side and wedges himself between them and the wall of the stable.
The offered meat works and both animals quiet down. The shaking at the gate stops and a voice that seems to be right behind it says. "And stay quiet you mutts!"

"Such an expert handler you are," a new voices says from the other side of the fenced area. "It is a wonder they don't mistake you for a rabbit or squirrel and eat you on accident."

"What? What are you doing here? It isn't a scheduled shipment day."

"I have an urgent matter, but lets talk inside."

"Alright come on."

Templeton listens as a heavy set of boots walks just on the other side of the fence he hides behind. Then suddenly at the gate a hooded figure passes by it (a man of average height) and looks into the yard at the kennels. As a the sound of a door opens and closes Templeton lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Planning on getting out of there quickly (thinking all his luck is used up), the rogue stops at the gate when he hears voices coming from inside the trading post. A window at the back of the building is heavily curtained, but open due to the summer heat. Curious to catch a bit of what is going on Templeton creeps to the base of the window to listen for just a moment.

"... your deal here in Hommlet." the tall cloaked persona Templeton saw at the gate was saying.

"Don't you worry about that," the gruff (small person) growled back. "We have a deal. We sell the goods you bring, and the profits be ours and ours alone."

"But there are no goods with you today, how odd." a new voice broke in with a curious tone. "What then brought you here tonight?"

"I have news from..."

*sniff* *sniff*

"Damn it Ravnos! Did you break wind in here?" the gruff little man asked.

"No, I did not. I though it was you, so I was keeping quiet about it," Ravnos answered.

"It wasn't me. The winds must have switched. It smells like horse :):):):) that has sat in the sun all day. Close the window."

"But it's so hot."

"I don't care! Rather hot than me throwing up my dinner."

Templeton freezes in place as he hears a chair move and then the curtains ruffle. The window slams shut and the thick panes make it hard to hear without putting his ear to the window, but then any guardsman on the road would see him for sure.
Crossing the road to the jeweler's shop, Templeton finds it was closed up tight. Scouting out the building reveals no weakness to getting inside. It is built of a mix of stone and wood, and the windows all have thick iron bars crossing them to make breaking in next to impossible. Thinking that maybe a good look at the inside of the building will give him a bit more information, he remembers that the gnome living here might be able to help in the repair of the music box he found. Perhaps he has an excuse for entering the place once the group returns from the moathouse.
Spending the next couple hours the rogue gets the lay of the land that surrounds the sleepy little village and then heads back to the Inn of the Welcome Wench for some much needed sleep.

OOC: Note: No water holes/wells. Everyone gets water from the creek.

Hm, so, just to be clear. Rana gets +1 cantrips next level, as all Warlocks do, but she would not be able to learn Shillelagh with it (But she would be able to learn Infestation). Is that correct?

Infestation is a warlock cantrip? I did not see that. Still need to stay in the rules as I don't wish to say yes then have it come bite me in the rear later.

Not sure what you mean here?

Rana *has* Shillelagh in her spell list right now, and will likely get Infestation next level. However, seeing as were in a swamp right now, I'm thinking it would be nice to drop Shilelagh and have Infestation *now*, then retake Shilelagh next level (which spell I rather like, because of the cane and all :) This HP drought can't go on forever).

Hm, thinking about it, I think she can actually do that entirely legally with the Warlock's "change one of your spell choices each level" ability? Maybe? Don't have the books in front of me right now.

OOC: EarlyBird, I didn't intend to move, just to stand up, the location remains the same.

I knew but standing takes half your movement and half of zero won't allow for it. I thought to soften that by removing the grapple so you could stand in round 2.

Let me know when she is ready for a once over, and I can update my character sheet for her.
