Revenge of the Sith DVD on November 1st

Now, on to your other statement: puppet Yoda being replaced by CGI Yoda in the Phantom Menace? So does this mean that TPM is going to be re-released on DVD or in theaters at some point?
The book doesn't specify. It said Lucas had the visual effects team replace the TPM Yoda "as a warm up" to the Yoda that would be in ROTS while he was still finishing up the script. Elsewhere in the book it said that when Lucas was watching the OT DVD's prior to their release he made note of another scene in ESB that would have to be touched up "for a future release." Whether that release was a theatrical rerelease (probably in 3D) or future DVD/HD-DVD release (possibly the six part set) it didn't say.

For ESB I hope they change the SE footage of the flying through Bespin. It just looks too flat.

As for TPM, almost everything that bothered me before I no longer have a problem with. Midichlorians tie in with the sweet
Palpatine creates Anakin
plot twist of ROTS so they're okay, I love Nute Gunray and Battle Droids now, and don't even mind that Anakin built 3PO. The only things that still bug me are a few Jake Lloyd scenes ("are you an angel?" and "Now THIS is pod-racing...YOOOHOOOOO!" and Ric Ollie's horrible line readings. Jar Jar I actually get a kick out of, and the lightsaber duel plus the three way editing at the end are just spectacular.

I would kill to get an mp3 of JEJ saying "No, Obi-wan killed your father."
You'll never get the chance, since it was David Prowse who delivered the "Obi-Wan" line. I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't have it on the recent DVD documentary.

I still prefer Ep2 over Ep1, I think Anakin is portrayed properly so he doesn't annoy me, Jar-jar on the other hand simply can't be accounted for.
Its the other way around for me. I like Jar Jar in TPM but young Anakin was where they stumbled a bit.

This comment is interesting (I mean Vader's statement, not Welverin's implicit death threat) in that is holds as much validity as Obi-wan's statement that Vader killed Anakin.

That said, I also understand later in the year a single set of DVD's of episodes 1, 2 and 3 will be released, similar to how a single set of DVD for episodes 4, 5 and 6 were released a while back. Does anyone have any details on this?

I know, that's why I'd be willing to kill for it, all I have to do is corner him while I have a tape recorder and make him say it and then digitally alter it...

Oops, didn't make that clear enough, I was refering to Ep2 Anakin, who you haven't commented on recently so you may or may not agree with me.

Jake doesn't bother me too much, he has some annoying bits, but not enough to turn me off. Jar-jar however is persistently annoying (the bathroom humor doesn't have a place in Star Wars). When it comes to annoying kids, the one who played Bobba Fett is the one who I can't stand, but that may have more to do with the fact he doesn't have as much screen time to provide a counter balance.

That's most of what I like about it, it's true froma certain point of view.

I'm not so sure that's been confirmed for this year, not long after the dvd releases were announced (which included a big whole series one), there was some clarification from Rick McCallum (I believe), who said the release date for the big set wasn't set. This might include any Ep1-3 set, if anything is released this year I'd bet it's like the LotR sets, which were nothing more than the regular dvds in a slip case, which I just remember they did with Ep1&2 when Ep2 came out.

This little excerise also got me thinking about themes. But I'll leave that for another thread as I've hijacked enough for one day...

Bugger that, anyway my suggestion:

Marvel comic movies, my first thought was Spider-man, but there are only two of them so I figured the more general Marvel would work. Question is which ones? I'd go with Spidey 1&2, Blade and Hulk, maybe the X-men movies.

Ah. Ep. 2 Anakin I pretty much like from Tatooine on. I still cringe a bit before that, but not on account of Hayden Christiansen, rather its his dialogue and direction.

Interesting. I was originally really against there being a "Kid Boba" but when I saw the movie I actually thought the kid he chose did a great job and enjoyed all his scenes. So there you go.
