Its reached the point that I'm going to start being picky about what I review. What I mean is I can no longer review everything that comes my way. Its something I've been hoping to avoid but I'm just not going to have enough time to review everything that gets sent my way.

I imagined it would get to that point eventually. One person is just not enough to handle all the PDFs that are getting published lately. Is there no one who can help you in a reliable manner?

Also, I hope you'll let us know what will be the criteria for deciding what to review. I can hardly think you are aware of every single PDF that gets published, so solicitations will be limited to some of the more salient products only, with most of the small PDF releases going by unnoticed. Perhaps we can send you a product description/link to one on the company's website and then you decide if you'd like to give it a go?

I'm one of those who has contributed his two PDFs to your current overload, so I'm trying to figure out a win-win scenario. And while you still haven't gotten to my two releases, thanks for the hard and dedicated work you do for us and for the public.

I have created what I call a REview Now folder. It has all the pdfs that I want to review as soon as I can. It usually has all the latest pdfs I'm sent. I've moved some of them into another folder marked with pdfs that I haven't reviewed but would like given the time. That folder consists of a lot of what I was not able to get to before 2004 started.

I honestly will not be able to come up with a good criteria of what will get reviewed and what won't. It will be unfair for someone, but hopefully I can make it unfair for everyone so its even. Some series of books will get moved out of the Review Now folder. For instance Octavirate Games has their Creature Weekly. I've reviewed the first two, and I like the books. But numbers 3-5 I'm passing on reviewing even though they were sent to me. On that sereis I got the first two and it doesn't seem like much has changed since them. Another criteria, though I imagine it will only effect EN World Publishing is that if a book has more then a few reviews already, I'll pass on it. Most of what I review ends up being the only review for a product so I'm going to continue to try to review the products no one else is.

I have no idea how this sounds to publishers, but just keep sending stuff to me. I can no longer promise to get to it all but I look at everything and if there is something that really catches my eye it'll get reviewed. Also, I imagine I will still be reviewing about 2 out of 3 products that get sent my way. I'm not just going to review what I like or what interests me. I'm going to try to keep a variety of subjects and companies getting reviewed.

As I look and see what I have I think I'm also going to pass on new versions of the SRD.

I don't have all the asnwers right now. This has been a descions that's been on my mind for about a month and I really did not want it to come to this. Depending on how much review material I get I may get to a time where what I pass on now, it will get reviewed down the road.

Sounds good for now. I guess it's really a matter of wait and see how things develop. I'll keep sending you my releases; at this moment in my short publishing career, one copy is worth the chance of getting a review. Hope it eases up, and that perhaps you can find a dependable co-reviewer.

It is good to have goals but mine seem to be tough. The holidays are over and while I did get less product as expected I also had much less time. So, while I was hoping to get caught up that obviously didn't happen. I'm only sitting on 16 books right now, which is actually a little on the low side for me (Ya!! :D) and hope to get caught up. At this point I seem to be reviewing about 80% of the books I get.

Any new comments or complaints? Feel free to voice them here or if you need to yell at me in private, you can always do that over the e-mail. Not that anyone has actually ever yelled at me for this review thing.....guess I need to be more controversial or something. Hope the new year is treating you all good.

Thanks for letting us use the Warden's interview of you in Elemental, Crothian!

Warm regards
Evan

um, what huh? has that interview been posted? I don't recall reading it had, it has beena few months so I may have missed it.

What is elemental? First I've heard about anyone using the interview, not that I have any problems with it. Just news to me.

I forgot to send you an email letting you know about it, Crothian, but I decided to use the interview (which I had been planning to post here this month) for the charity instead and put it to better use.
