Reviewing Chris Perkins

I have a hard time watching Chris Perkins DM. I don't like his voices, his stories, his naming habits, and most of all his railroading. Granted, public performance may call for a little rail-roading, so I'll give him a pass there.

To each their own, though. I think it is well that people seem to enjoy him, so this is the first time I have ever publicized my dislike. It does bug me a little to see him heralded as a "master". I have never seen someone I would call a master, and Mr. Perkins is not really even close, in my mind.

You shouldn't base everything on his public performances.
Have you read his archived column "The Dungeon Master Experience" ?

Indeed, people should check out this article from the Dungeon Master Experience.

On that page you can also download an example of the Campaign Bibles he creates (note that it was a work in progress at the time)

If I created a document like that I'd be lucky if my players read half of the first page. Hopefully his players are more into it.

Also, I struggle with names. I wouldn't be "giving away" dozens of them in the campaign bible. I need all that I can get! :D
