I know not many groups really pay attention to encumbrance (including ours), but this came about as a result of my tinkering with the revised movement system (since, logically, how much stuff you're carrying affects how fast/far you can move). For those of you who insist on counting every pound of gear, or are simply interested in trying it out, this is for you.
The major changes to this system:
Armor does have an effect on encumbrance - even if you're wearing nothing BUT armor, you will be encumbered by the heavier types. On the flip side, armor's weight is reduced when worn (for encumbrance purposes only).
I added a "non-encumbered" category, which is up to 1/3 of the light load. This ties into the movement rules - only someone who's not encumbered can move at a full-out sprint (Run x5). Light load now has a (slight) penalty.
I laid out the multipliers for larger/smaller creatures and quadrupeds into a nice neat table for easier reference.
