[Revised] Gnomes, lets hope there gone

I say drop the elves (can't stand elves), drop the kende..-um-halflings, hell drop dwarfs, half-orcs and humans too

All hail the Gnomes! Gnomes aren't jokers and Gnomes aren't Tinkerers. Gnomes are masters of the Secret Wisdom, Mortal Fey, the true Little People

Gnomes we gnow you don't understand us - and thats the way we like it:)

Gnomes have their place in the revised core books - in the MM, under "things to be killed on sight by any civilized person".

Hmm... epic, glorious fighting against an empire of crazed, short gnomes that want to take over the world and sacrifice every soul to a necromantic invention...

Grim and gritty pest control, flushing out gnomes from the bowels of society where they practise heathen, evil necromantic experiments and deal in drugs.

Beer&pretzels dungeon crawling, battling hordes of cowardly, sneaky, magic and illusion using small monsters that make the most difficult (and mechanically complex) traps the PC have ever seen (could replace kobolds in that capacity).

Smelly scavengers looting and pillaging droids and other technical relics on a desert planet... ooops, wrong system.

Revised gnomes can have their place in every campaign...

LOL! :)

Still, for me, it's - among other things - the whole 19th century England schtick that Tolkien-style hobbits have going on that predisposes me against putting them into a typical fantasy world...

I can live with using them this way, though - they aren't gnomes, after all... :D
Don't kill me.
I'm sure your post was well-intentioned. :p

GNOMES!!

Gnomes are by far the best character race. They're incredible versatile--I once ran an all gnomish campaign using all the different subraces:
rock gnomes
deep gnomes
river gnomes
arcane gnomes
forest gnomes
-see almost any environment.

In fact, my submission to WOTC's world search was a world based around gnomes--I'm still stunned that one didn't make it :D

I will agree, however, that tinker gnomes and kender suck-they are a blight on the reputation of gnomehood.

I like gnomes. They lead technology as elves lead magic. They make contraptions like halflings sneak into places. They get drunk from a single pint.

Y'know, In Terry Brooks' Sword of Shanarra, the Gnomes were the evil minions of the Big Scary Bad Guy. They were these wiry, mean little buggers, who were known to swarm on lone members of the taller races and tear them limb from limb.
Just an obervation. Maybe not a helpful one, but an observation.
