That'll rule them out as a standard Player Character race, of course.

I'm trying; one of my players recently created a gnome cleric and I like the little fella disturbingly well, considering that he's a gnome. Still, his bad tactics will probably get him killed sooner rather than later - and then, I'll have a gnome-free PC party again...

Make it later rather than sooner, but fill the interval with getting the little *censored* down to -9 hp as many times as possible!
