Revised Psionic's Handbook

I have to say that I love psionics but I didn't buy the PsHB when it came out because many uncomplimentary things were said about it. I have read the book, one of the guys in the group has it. I was not impressed with the way the system or the classes was handled.

If WotC was to really take some time and clean up the rules, etc. I would buy one, in a heartbeat.

Does anyone from WotC even read these boards anymore? Is there anyone left at WotC to read the boards? Can the people left at WotC even read?

If it was bumped up in size with additional material from Mind's Eye, various Dragon articles, and added some new monsters (monsters NOT found in MM1 or MM2). I would buy it.

If it came with additional elements from .pdfs I dont own, of sound mind, if thoughts could kill, mindscape stuff, etc. I would be looking forward to it as much as the new revised stuff.

PS- I would also SO buy a Dark Sun campaign book. :)

I'm sorry, I was with you up until this point. You want people to be able to get 9th level powers as Wild Talents? Remember, these powers are approximately equivalent to 9th level spells, like Wish, Miracle, or Time Stop. I don't want anyone in any game getting access to these, without having to put in all the spellcaster levels necessary to build up to it. I see no real way to balance wild talents, if they offer high level powers.

No I agree. The only balanced way to introduce this is through variations of the Psionic Creature template or feats that grant very limited aptitude for psionics...

I would buy it like that! As long as they fix MAD - otherwise I'll just stick to ITCK.

The psi-combat in the PsiH is poor, but at least its avoidable. MAD is not, without rule zero.

I'd like to see a new PsiHB, too.

Especially I'd like it if the monsters were treated just like normal Psions -- as in, they get Power Points and have to spend them to use their powers.

For example, Mind Flayers shouldn't be able to Mind Blast at will -- that action should cost them some PP. However, they should get back PP for eating brains (even non-psionic brains).

I'd really like to see some sort of help with integration of psi and magic in campaigns which use both.

And, of course, they have to fix or eliminate Psi Combat.

As far as psionics go, I'm not holding my breath. You should instead check out the True Psionics project:

http://www.geocities.com/trued20psionics

It's an independent effort that might be published by White Wolf (according to rumors of the message board). It promises 2e psionics feel (no 9 levels of power) that mesh perfectly with 3e and are balanced. I know the book itself is done so it should come out relatively soon. There's not much on the site right now, but the FAQ is interesting.
