Riese (new steampunkish web series)

Shade

Monster Junkie
Wonder what happened to Sanctuary's erstwhile Invisible Girl (Christine Chatelain)?

She’s headlining this new web series:

+ Riese The Series +

Maybe it’ll catch on like Sanctuary and become a SyFy series.

The show is currently encoded at 540p to guarantee that viewers with lower bandwidth can easily view the show. However, your question caused us to pause for a moment, and we think Riese warrants a push up to 720p. We’re going to re-encode the file and replace the current one in the early morning hours tomorrow and see how it performs. Our Player can take Riese to 1080p, but too few viewers have the bandwidth to warrant the additional bump.

Wow, Thanks. Have you considered offering downloadable versions in HD and Ipod optimized versions? I think when Sanctuary was a Web Series they sold their videos in multiple sizes and compressions.

You'll see it soon on iTunes and Zune. In fact, iTunes will be featuring a bonus, backstory, episode. As for downloads in full res, that may be further on down the road.

The production values were great and the lead actress is appealing, but wow was that first episode ever slow. I know you need to establish things, but after watching it I had no interest in seeing future episodes. I watched the trailer second and so now I'm intrigued and will give it another go, but without that trailer the episode is, in my opinion of course, dull. Pretty, certainly, but dull. If someone downloaded just the first episode from iTunes, I really doubt they'd come back for another.

Sorry if my being blunt feels hurtful. I just wanted to express it, in case you got other feedback along these lines.

Thanks for your feedback Fast Learner. The great thing about making a web series, as a filmmaker, is to execute on a vision independent of studios, execs and other entities that normally way in when creating a film. Although I see where your coming from regarding the pacing, we hope you stick around to see some fresh storytelling and great cast. It might not be for everyone, but we're excited that there's finally a place where a filmmaker can finally create something as originally inspired.

Thanks for checking it out!

I just watched the first 8min episode. Was that all? Was there more I was supposed to see? I read somewhere that there were 5 episodes completed with more being shot in December.
