Yep, 7 rounds, that's it. Hey, it could be worse, it could be only 5.

You know, for most of the time my character has had this ring, we thought it was caster level 5 for some reason. I kept having to reactivate it at the end of battles.

At least you shouldn't fall while on the ethereal... the question remains whether or not you'll be holding the rope when you come back... A Reflex save (DC 10? 15?) sounds about right to me.
