I don't get why people think the girdle of hill giant strength should go to the strength-based fighter, or the headband of intellect to the wizard. Why give it to someone who can eek out a mere +1 over their current bonus, when you can give it to the guy who'll get a substantial boost from it and make the party all the stronger?
