Rituals take too long and creative casting is dead

Not if you're playing in the dungeon and the party scout is serious about his job. Not a strange campaign at all.
Yes, yes. It is a very strange campaign indeed.
Strangely enough, I just wonder if a "scout the dungeon" scenario is also a typical role-playing intensive scenario, or if it is something a "True Roleplayer" would frown upon?

Well, maybe it's just me, but even if it is D&D tradition, I am not really a fan of these dungeon exploring stuff and avoiding traps isn't what I prefer. But complex political intrigue isn't something I feel exactly comfortable with, either. Maybe just too much of anything is never good. Maybe I am just in for the miniatures battle and for the vague plots motivating them?

Ah, let's face it, I fail at role-playing anyway. I am just there for the chicks. Oh, wait...

I guess I just fail.

Depends on how it's played, I should think. A "true role player" would be very descriptive of the things his PC was doing and it would all fit in with the personality he had crafted for the character, I suppose. Play the role in any situation in which the character finds himself.
