Going back to the original question:
I don't see why not. As far as I can tell, it isn't that different from the Enchant Object ritual. Rather than getting a permanent power in the form of an item, you get a temporary power that fades after a while. I think for actual play, I'd use more utility powers rather than attack powers as the template for the sorts of powers you can get.
