Riverdale Trailer - Archie never looked so CW!

precisely this, CW has made its brand showcasing the angst and dramatic tension amidst an ensemble of young attractive characters and a few older (but crucially still attractive) mentors and 'parent figures'.

Supernatural is a founding member of the CW stable, though its DC comics line (including Smallville) is arguably its most prominent offering.

As for Archie, I too was a bit 'eh? how is this Archie?" until I was reminded that Archie has faced zombies and helped the Punisher bring down a notorious drug dealer in Riverdale too

That sort of thing has been an aberration, however, rather than the main thrust of the comic series. The comic has also taken a recent dark turn but, again, that's a moment in an almost 80 year history.

As a devourer of Archie comics for a couple of decades, I'm not seeing the nostalgic value in this concept. I find it a little intriguing, but also disappointed in how it fails to capture the feel of Riverdale given that this is a first major attempt to in live action .

Archie looks like he might fit in better on the set of Twilight or Supernatural. :/ That doesn't bode well for fans.
Actually, there was an earlier Archie live action pilot back in the day, with William Shallart (sp?) as Archie's dad. Its on YouTube if anyone wants to check it out.

CW you want a concept for a show...
