Robin IV?!

First Post
OK, I don't think this is a spoiler (please excuse the pun), since the issue already came out, but what is this?!

Spoiler is now Robin?! Tim Drake has hung-up the tights?!

How long will this last and what will happen to Tim Drake? Will he ever be Robin again?

I like Tim Drake and can't imagine he will go out like that.

If anyone has any more info, please respond.

I don't read Robin, but my brother did, until Chuck Dixon left. To hear him say it, after that the comic went downhill. This seems indicative of that.

Good question; I hope it's not a permanent change. As of the August preview on the DC Comics board, he's still at least featured in the book. So I'm thinking he's not permanently gone. Usually when that happens you never hear from the former person for years, while the new character gets established. Of course this is Willingham, so who knows what he'll do. He could just build up to it and then have a bus hit Tim while he's walking home from school.

For those who haven't followed the story so far, there's a TPB, 'Unmasked' coming out in early August.

In all honesty, I haven't been keeping up that much on the current Robin comic, most of my knowledge of Tim Drake comes from TPBs, but this change to another Robin feels so abrupt.

Well, its a even-numbered Robin, so likely the Joker kills her. :)

And then, Batman dies, Nightwing becomes Batman, Tim Drake becomes Nightwing, and we introduce Robin V. Only this Robin can shoot laser beams out of his eyes, because they are, y'know, cool. :)

Tim's dad discovers his superhero secret and from there deducts that
Bruce Wayne is Batman. Tim's dad threatens to expose Bruce/Bats, but
Tim buys peace with putting the cape and mask away. Batman, feeling
that he requires another Robin, picks Spoiler, since he's been training her
for a while.

I expect Spoiler to die or be seriously hurt during "War Games" and Tim Drake takes back the mantle of Robin.
That's what all the rumours point at. It seems to be a classic shock-tactic.

'War Games' is a summer crossover in the Batman titles, despite Batman
editorial had semi-promised that there wouldn't be any for at least a while.
The released plot-overview is that for some reason yet to be revealed, a
war is ignited between all the different gangs and freak-factions in Gotham.
It runs for three whole months, starting in early August.

So what happens to the Robin on the Teen Titans cartoon?

Isn't that cartoon relatively new, like only being around for 1 or 2 seasons?

That Robin is Tim Drake right?

Anyway, I have nothing against a girl Robin or Spoiler, but it just seemed like all-of-a-sudden BAM, a new Robin!

I hope Tim gets back in the cape soon.
