The warlord and a defender (a fighter or a paladin) could be flanking the target for you.

Party could look like this:

Melee cleric or melee bard or warlord: leader
defender 1
(defender 2)
controller
striker: you

Defender 1 and the leader flank one target. Defender 2 locks down other targets. You concentrate your ranged fire on the target that is flanked.

This is a good feat but its usefulness depends on party composition.

Warlords are a) melee, just like your defenders, and b) specifically have powers designed to shift/push/pull/slide enemies and allies alike. Easy flanking is one of the Warlord specialties, and something that just -happens- when you bring one along, especially of the tactical or resourceful variety. Whenever anyone mentions 'flanking' one should automaticly think 'Warlords'.

And seeing as Rogues are already tasty with flanking, a Warlord is pretty much a delicious c-c-c-combo with Sneak Attack -as is-. This is one of those feats that rewards party composition as much as individual composition. Given that party composition is totally in the hands of the players, it's not exactly a bad situation.

Nope. It's a pretty fantastic feat for archer rangers, warlocks...

Especially if they are willing to eat an OA.

1. Fighter is one of those doing the flanking and has marked the foe.
2. Warlock/Ranger gets adjacent to the foe.
3. Warlock/Ranger declares the Ranged Attack
4. Fighter gets his Interrupt attack IF the foe takes the OA
5. Warlock/Ranger gets prime shot and flanking bonus on the roll.

I move into melee range quite a bit to help the rogue gain CA with my staff wizard. It's even better if I can flank with the fighter and give the rogue the bonus from range. This lets the rogue and wizard each take a portion of the heat for being in close and spreads the damage around in a manner likely to preserve the rogues surges. Interesting feat, not great for pc's other than rogues but not bad either.

Its a good feat, but typically its not going to be as reliable as getting flanking yourself if your party is low on melee combatants. As a player of a Artful Dodger Daggermaster, I would much rather take the PHB2 Paragon feat Vexing Flanker. With Vexing Flanker if I flank an enemy, that enemy grants Combat Advantage to all my allies. Effectively giving my allies +2 to hit any monster that I can get flank on, which is easy for me. Of course my rogue is focused on status effects that help the party in addition to me (Blind, Stunned, Dazed, etc.) so its a natural pick for me.
