Roleplaying outside the U.S.

For Germany:

1. No, D&D is not the primary RPG.

2. D&D was never the primary RPG, except perhaps in the very beginning, but that was before RPGs were really known as a hobby by more than a handful of people.

3. The Dark Eye (Das Schwarze Auge) has been sitting on the number 1 spot nearly since its start in 1984. I guess that Shadowrun and D&D are fighting for the number 2 spot.

Don't forget Midgard (the oldest german Roleplaying Game), it has also a lot of Players.

Alnag -> Wiedźmin RPG (The Witcher is actually also a cRPG stated for September release) is a niche product. I don't know anyone who plays it nowadays.

Funny. It is one out of two of the the polish RPG I knew. I was trying to read it and despite understanding only every second word (ouch) it looked pretty interesting. Well maybe it is because I like the setting. Sapkowski is very popular south of your borders too! :p

Yeah, I know about CPRG... so far it looks good and maybe too good for my old notebook... But I really wonder whether the release of the CPRG and also translation of the Witcher (Wiedzmin) to english might be a good chance to do TRPG as well. Maybe d20system or so...

Well, nice to see some neighbour round here. I am feeling lonely here sometimes... ;)
