roleplaying people are satanists ;)

It does actually, if you account for inflation. D&D books have dramatically dropped in price per page count, in addition to more full color art (which I'd say is also of better quality).

You do realize that my original post was meant to be a comment on inflation, right?

In other words... "$200.00 doesn't buy nearly as many new D&D figures and manuals as it used to because inflation has decreased the value of a dollar by nearly 56% over the two decades."

That is to say, regardless of the inflation-corrected cost per page of RPG books... A $200 D&D shopping spree in 1984 would cost roughly $370 now, and $200 worth of loot now would only have set you back about $108 in 1984.

Regardless of the tract's numerous Dungeons and Dragons snafus, had Chick ever once talked to the average gamer when he wrote that? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have said that the groups were predominately comprised of totally bangable women and run by foxy older ladies.

Ah, but Tolkien, at least, was Catholic. And you can be sure that Jack Chick considers Catholicism just as satanic as D&D.
On this note, you should see the "Death Cookie" tract, and anti-Catholic screed guarranteed to offend, and probably to amuse, if you're the type to laugh at stupidity.

Find it read it and be offended and laugh.

And see "The Beast" tract
And "The Man in Black"
And... etc., etc.

Nope, Mr. Chick really doesn't like Catholics. I'm waiting for the Catholic School Girls Who Play D&D and Watch Television! track.

(Note - the D&D gaming group being all female is suppose to imply "D&D Game Group" = "Witch Coven". So you can probably add Wiccans and Women to his list of prejudices.)

Based on some other stuff I've heard about it, apparently Jack Chick's impressions about DnD were formed based on his experiences with some LARPers who bore a striking resemblence to some of these guys.
