I wouldn't exactly bank on the output of a last minute advertised book printing only advertised on a messageboard post and your website for such big determinations.

Not that I see RPG writing as the most lucrative of writing fields.

All true. It's just that I've noticed a steady decline in D20 sales and frequent discussions led to many "I want print" opinions. We'll see how the softcover does.

But no matter what it's definitely time for more variety in my work.

A very depressing 8 copies. If I needed a sign it was time to find a new line of work I think I've now seen it.

Nothing to feel bad about at all. I'm happy to share sales numbers with others as both education and information. It certainly isn't your fault -- if anything it's my fault. I should have either not tried this experiment OR selected a more popular product to try it with. We need to keep in mind that even after six months of sales A DM's Directory of Demiplanes has not sold 100 copies in PDF. It's been an all-around depressing product primarily because a lot of work and creativity went into it and it's largely unknown and ignored by gamers -- even those that enjoy planar adventures.

For me the products that have the best sales are the ones I put the least amount of effort into. 101 Mundane Treasures, the Campaign Planner, 101 Spellbooks -- all products I didn't work hard at and they all sell well. (Not to say I didn't work, I just didn't put a lot of myself into them.)

Thanks for the order! It would have been there faster but I had them reprinted (I wasn't happy with the first run).
