Round III is OVER

FORGE RING - Item Creation - out you go. Useless? Hell no. TOO USEFUL? Absolutely. I don't want my players to be able to do this.

I think it just comes down to a question of style. I'd rather hit a wizard with my Lightning Bolt than counter any of his second level spells. I assume, but can't conclude, that's why most people don't like this Feat.

Well - the real question is whether you would feel the same if your party is about to be webbed. Web is a tactically devastating spell which totally alters the attack of the party. There is no real REF "save" for Web. It impedes your players by a matter of degree only - be they 3rd or 16th level no matter the saving throw.

Are you using Stinking Cloud as a spell to cover your flank, or save it to counterspell a Web?

Another point is whether the enemy spellcasters are burning off Wall of Fire and Fire Shield to counter your party's fireball spell. These events change the big battle as it unfolds in a substantial way. All the plans of rush to point A. take out the mooks at B and punch through to BBEGs at C are totally changed when the fireballs fail to work or the Web spell does/does not go off.

Alot of the comments here seem to be coming from a player perspective. I approach is as a DM - how I equip my NPC's first, how my party develops their feats second and what feats I hate as a DM for my players to take.

So are you voting to kick Forge Ring, but to keep Improved Counterspell?

I didn't realize we coud countervote.

If we can "countervote", I vote to keep IC.

If we can't, I'll vote to nerf Item Creation, starting at Ring first.

Trample

Since it didn't go last round, I'm voting for this till it goes. Same reasons as in round 2. (When I'm still voting for it in round 4, I'll find the original post ;)).

Since you got rid of all the +2/+2 to skills feats, can we also get rid of the +2 save feats?
I'd like to see Lightning Reflexes, Iron Will, and Great Fortitude get the boot.
Sure sometimes people take them, but it's only to cover the weakest save they have, and most often, that measly +2 isn't enough to save them when they really need it.
Kick 'em off the island IMO.
The +2 save feats are extremely powerful compared to the equivalent DC-raising feats. This makes them excellent choices.

Yeah, seriously. There's a PC Wizard IMC who's only alive because of Great Fortitude. Twice.

Run

Like I said in the last round:

RUN. Away.

If you had Far Shot, maybe you wouldn't have to run towards the enemy, and if you had some weapon and armor proficiencies, maybe you wouldn't have to run away. :p

Feats like the weapon and armor proficiencies, Improved Unarmed Strike, Deflect Arrows, Snatch Arrows, Stunning Fist and Track do walk the fine line between class abilities and feats. I suspect that they were made feats because someone argued that it shouldn't be necessary to take levels in class X just to get the ability.
