RPG Crowdfunding News – Rifts, Spells of the Ages, S5E, and more

The RPG crowdfunding campaigns covered in this article end between July 2nd and 23rd. While not an exhaustive list of every project that is available, there are several Savage Worlds and 5e projects to consider, as well as original systems and some RPG accessories.

In that case, this campaign offers another Savage Worlds Adventure Edition of Rifts, this one is a 192 pages titled Rifts®: Atlantis and the Demon Seas. Their Atlantis is big, full of unique ideas, and ready to game. Add to that, they’re offering an army of pawns, maps, and more.

In 27 pages, you’ll learn a new school of magic, ecomancy, 38 new spells, and rules for upcasting 19 common spells to be cooler. To me, the addition of a school of magic and the new casting rules make this a winner for your 5e game.

If so, the core rulebook is over 300 pages of new classes, ancestries, and powers with rules for adding gangs, criminals, territories, and safehouses with more options beyond that. If you want to use 5e for supers, this looks like a solid option with a strong group of creators.

  • SYSTEM(S): An original system
  • PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook

This game offers an original ruleset that lets you explore a range of settings and story options, historic to futuristic. The Italian edition of this book won RPG of the Year in 2020 at Lucca Comics & Games. Now the game is coming to the English market as a 240-page core rulebook. • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? Loosely based on the 1980s game books of the same name, this 250-page project brings the grimdark world to tabletop. With a 5e ruleset, the game uses four new classes, new setting rules, five adventures, and guidance on how to adapt monsters to the game, among other options. • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? If you build dungeons for your miniatures, this project offers some great looking pieces that connect via magnets. In this 32-page adventure for levels 5 to 8, you’ll encounter druids, a god, and start on another plane as you work your way back to reality. It’s an adventure with some interesting aspects if you’re looking for something out of this world.

Atlantis Rising sounds a bit overloaded.
Atlantis alone can fill a book, but it also has Lemurians, the New Navy, Lord of the Depth an Naut'Yll in it according to the kickstarter page. That is a lot for not even 200 pages especially when they also add a adventure/campaign into it.

I've found all the Savage Rifts stuff to condense the vast setting lore to a digestible amount for a starting GM. For more details, I'd point others to getting the setting guides directly from Palladium, which I think is good content even if you don't use the system.

Thanks very much for giving Heroes of Thargos some exposure here. The stretch goals are in sight and hope that we have a strong finish to our first Campaign. I would add that this is not just for fans of the Cursed Empire RPG. We have had a lot of interest from people new to the setting too. I just hope that we inspire enough people to get involved in the game and will add some blurb here:

Just a word of caution for the SideQuests KS. This creator has several other accounts (at least 4) under different names on KS several of them unfulfilled. Do your research.

Yes, that is a terrible tactic I have seen, one with the failed to deliver Robotech Kickstarter miniatures.

Please don't post your entire Kickstarter page to this forum. Links on Kickstarters that Egg might not cover are fine, but graphics, text, and all is basically advertising your entire Kickstarter right on this page, and we have advertising for that purpose. Thanks.

There is definitely a healthy appetite for old school roleplay. I missed the Amazing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea years ago, but the recent TSR revival is making me look outside my usual 5e diet. Done right, a spiritual successor to classic Star Frontiers could work.

Anyway, let's roll up some old school swords and sorcery first
