[RPG] - Deleting all characters!

Got an [RPG] character? Not much longer!

I'm going to be deleting all RPG characters sometime soon. I'm also going to be limiting bot matches to 1 per day. This'll mean we'll be starting again, and that the most common way to fight will be with each other. You'll need to use the boards to arrange matches for now (until some kind of "arena" is added.

v2 of [RPG] is well underway (now 30% complete), and is a massive revamp/improvement. It's still some way off, though.

So, until then, we're going to clean out the database and start again. Note that when fighting another member, the winner takes 5% of the loser's gold. Just for fun!

Here's a v2 update, BTW. This is a quote from the developer's boards, so please excuse the bad grammar!

V2 is under way, a listof features will start as they are completed, the list is below

Version 2 Feature List:

  • Admin Pages - Drop Down Menu's
    This new inferno function will auto selected the correct value in any drop down menu for the inferno admin pages using php, not javascript. This leaves the admin pages with barely any js left, the javascript for the pictures and other misc. stuff has been left, but now all drop down menu's will be selected sorrect on all browsers.
  • Battle Attacks - Removed
    The new battle attack system is under construction, and it requires to removal of the attacks, this means no MP or normal attacks randomly conjured up from no where, and also no animations, and best of all, no javascript which a few browsers had trouble with. (More info on this later)
  • New Attacking System - Fists/Weapons
    As apposed to the random system this is now in conjunction with the attack system with the battle ground, you may use any "weapons" that you have purchased within battle, each one will display its own little message inside the battle log, this message is editable when adding/editing an item within the admin cp. Rage/Limit Break are still included
  • New RPG Stats: Evasion + Vitality

  • Clan Ranks - the clan owner can now assign a specific clan rank to any of its members, you can type in anything, means you can specify the members within it a further class, nothing special, just a lil feature
  • Summons Remade - Summons are now 100% customizable, from level requirement to the stats they start off with when picked, they also have avatars now instead of summon sprites, this has also reduced queries by -1 in any area that involved summon data, on the forum and admin cp
  • Forum Money Control - You can now turn off money been recieved in any forum of your choice, you simple go to the forum manager page, edit a forum and the choice will appear
  • Triple Triad Addition - The FF8 card game that was a wanted hack for ages across vbulletin boards, it isn't completed yet but most of it is, there is a thread inside the chit chat forum if you don't know what it is, but the features are: Buy card packs, X amount of cards randomly selected (all but lvl 10 char cards, this is done on purpose, and for a reason, you will find out later), the X is a number you can customize inside the acp, along with the price of these packs, members can have the same card over and over, view all cards shows a listing of everythnig single card, scan card, shows both images (red/blue) and its statistics and type, acp, your able to add/edit/delete (not delete default cards) and new cards are set to "custom" type and card types cannot be changed (if it could then it wouldn't be a Triple Triad replica) Check out the triple triad section on here to see it in action. All thats left is the triad battle ground (the main part) and i will edit this post when that is done
  • Triple Triad battles are completed, this includes Member Vs CPU and Member Vs Member, there is no limit to how many membrs can battle the cpu, and for now winning or losing doesn't effect anything, but i aim to make winning cpu battles gain you money, and winning member battles allowing you to take 1 of the loser's cards, ill edit this post when they are done

  • Triple Triad Battles Updated! Now if you win the bot, you get so much money, this is set within the admincp, if you win a member, you get to choose one of the members cards to keep, you can only choose from the cards your opponent used within the battle though
  • RPG World Started! Well i bought an rpg map making program, and have made a map for the rpg world addition, current towns and cities are been made, ive made a nice simple php program that allows me to make them with ease and other admins, saving a lot of time. This will take a while to make as it will be the biggest new addition to Version 2

  • Some admin pages layout have been re-made, allowing more data on the page for each object, and also not been so cramped
  • New Adaptive EXP System Algorithm Added (More Information: Click)
  • All known js across inferno which was in-compatible with other browsers such as mozilla etc.. has been made compatible, the javascript was re-written and is now compliant on all recent browsers. (More info: Click)
  • RPG Avatar Gallery - In RPG CP, there will be a drop down menu displaying avatars, each have there own category, these can be used instead of inputting your own avatar information. This is all admin controlled, you can add/edit/delete avatars, and avatar categories, when you delete an avatar category, you get the option to move all avatars in the category to another, or delete all the ones inside it.

  • Optomization - As part of a task to kill queries in as many sections as possible, numerous pages have had queries remade to save more been executed, one 1 page 34 queries was reduced to 12, others have had multiple queries reduced aswell, although inferno posed no server load threat its best to have it as optomized as can be.
  • All items now have more requirements within the itemshop, they can now have HP/MP/STR/DEF/VIT/EVA requirements, allowing items to be customized to members with high stats on one side, as per requested by Morrus.

    (This has resulted in you having to remove all items/upgrades/equipped items from members, i have written scripts to automatically do this for you, the members will have the money they spent on these refunded, and there stats will be taken down due to the ones added from the new items, so they get everything back). The addon itself has resulted in 0 queries been added, purely modifications of current queries and mysql tables.

  • Any section that is offline can now be viewed by ANY forum staff member that has moderator permissions.

We're starting again on an even keel and trying to use it in a different way (a more interactive way, rather than the booooooring bot battles).

In the course of his 169 levels he recorded 2663 victories, 29 defeats, and 1 "strategic withdrawal."

Game stats: 1600 hp, 2440 MP, Str 2431 and Def 2585.

239,953 gp on hand, and 3,775,000 gp in the bank.

Phaia was a courageous mercenary, very ineffective in managing the gold she won during her many fights in the Arena. While many adventurers of lesser experience were sporting Diamond equipment, Phaia was still stuck with Angel's Might weapons and armor.

So Phaia decided to let the bank do the job for her. She retired after many battles, and is still waiting in her mansion, patiently, until the banker summons her to tell her that she now has "1 million gold".

Phaia had tried a less honorable way of obtaining money, but a strange paradox ocurred, and money multiplied, and the gods themselves had to come down and stop the madness.

Before she retired, Phaia, member of the Overnight Guild, had killed 869 monsters, had been beaten 10 times, and had wisely decided to run away 10 times. She had attained level 61 and her special attack, which she only used once (exploiting at the same time a bug - albeit unknown to her), was called "Cause Voluptuousness".

Phaia is carrying 1,885 gold in her purse, and has 723,306 gp in the bank.

A TV Movie is being made about her and it will star Alyssa Milano (as Phaia) and Danny DeVito (as Phthor)
