RPG Gems: Your favorite "little known" RPG.

SPI's DragonQuest (2nd edition)

Woo hoo! One of my all time favorite fantasy RPGs. These days people know so little about it. A shame really, it was a lot of fun, easy to run, and easy to add things to it.

What's the appeal of DragonQuest, if I already have five plus editions of D&D to meet my general fantasy needs? And why 2nd edition, in particular?

Og: Unearthed

Thematically they're worlds apart, but when you want the Paranoia experience and you don't have a lot of time, this is how to do it.

Little Fears is good, but I like Grimm better. Zabulous Zorcerer of Zo has been entertaining, and Passages and Meddling Kids have also been good.

I don't know if it's little known, but 'Over the Edge' (Atlas Games) is pretty cool and totally weird. I can't remember when I had so much fun reading about a setting. Everything's possible here.

I'm not sure how "little known" they are, but there are three games that I routinely gaze longingly at on my rpg bookshelf: Deadlands, Fading Suns, and Unknown Armies.

I picked up Og after reading the rpg.net review of it, and had a blast. I've been asked several times when I'm going to run it again. It's a very fun lighthearted game.

Do you have a RPG that you love to play or GM? Perhaps something out of print or little known... How about introducing us to your "GEM"?

Mine is a little game entitled "Roanoke", by Clint Krause. Fun little RPG that takes the lost colony into the wire-fu action cinema world. Very simple yet wonderful! Of course you already know how the story ends...

The Fantasy Trip. I had a friend who owned several of the books and tried it out and played Death Test. We totally died against the first encounter, but ran homebrew adventures and it was a total blast.
