RPG Gems: Your favorite "little known" RPG.

Yup, you get to pick. You pick from a list of 17 (ish, going from memory). Depending on how smart a caveman you are you get different amounts.

You might start the game knowing only 4 words, the rest is all pantomime and grunting.

During the game, you might discover new words and learn those.

It does seem hilarious, and I'd agree, not in the least diminished by some brews.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a really fun, lighthearted game.

This is a great, great setting -- I love my copy of this :)

I also love my copies of Nobilis (Nobilis RPG Game – Nobilis Roleplaying Game – Nobilis Overview), Ars Magic (Atlas Games: Charting New Realms of Imagination), and Unknown Armies (Atlas Games: Charting New Realms of Imagination).

Which of these count as "little known" and which don't is up for grabs. ;)

Wait, people play Nobilis? Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice read. I just don't think I've ever heard of anyone playing it.

I'm always shocked at how few people know of Risus. It's the most simplistic and elegant system there is! If you ever want to do a one shot of any setting in existance, Risus is there for you (Though it does work best when it's a silly or light hearted one shot).

Someone mentioned Unknown Armies, which is also a favorite of mine. Right now, some people (Not me, VERY sadly enough) are running a Hunter: the Vigil game using Unknown Armies. It's awesome.

I've not really gotten to play many game systems. There are quite a few games that I want to play, but do not have the opportunity.

Primetime Adventures
Spirit of the Century
Dresden Files RPG (It doesn't help that it's not out, but y'know)
Don't Rest Your Head/Lose your Mind

It has been pretty consistent at Origins. Since its release there seems to be 2-4 sessions of it every year which is really good for a game few people know of and less of them have read the book.

Marvel SAGA game. I love the card mechanic.
and of the GUMSHOE games (Trail of Cthulhu, Esoterrorists)
3:16 Carnage among the stars

nice to see Blue Planet get some love. Jeff is a great guy.

Epic is the best self-contained fantasy variant of the d20 system I have ever seen, both in terms of mechanical elegance and attention to verisimilitude. That's not any easy balance to strike, but Epic gets it done.

I agree. An excellent system. I love the setting too, especially with how much the guild affiliations ties the PC's into it.
