RPG Print News – Goodman Games, Legendary Games, and More

Power Rangers, D&D5E, Pathfinder 1E, OSR, Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG Dying Earth, and DIE RPG.

The biggest news is not only can you now have G.I. Joe face not just the Transformers but also the Power Rangers either in collaboration or perhaps conflict but also that you have rules to do so fairly and are designed to work together. May be one of the coolest RPG things I have seen and my 80s child rejoices as the Pink Power Ranger punches Cobra Commander right in the face. Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition gets a supplement chock full of new rules, a book of mechanical monsters (also for Pathfinder 1E), and a massive three world campaign setting with many new rules. Basic and Expert D&D/Old-School Essentials now have a book full of nearly 200 NPCs. Another box set is out for Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG Dying Earth. And a new RPG of bloody conflict is available: DIE RPG.

Note: RPG Print News covers new RPG releases and some classics, reprints, and sales available from retailers. It does not cover products that are only available directly to customers only through kickstarter or as print on demand.

DIE RPG by Rowan, Rook & Decard
  • SYSTEM: unique
  • PRODUCT TYPE: hardcover core rulebook
  • RETAIL PRICE: $59.95
  • DESCRIPTION: PCs are trapped in a fantasy world stitched together from their obsessions, dreams, and nightmares. They must either get home safe or work to stay there forever. Based on the comic of the same name by Kieron Gillen and Stephanie Hans. PCs are a group of flawed and desperate real-world people (Personas) who are sucked into a cursed roleplaying game and take on the form of heroes, villains, and power players (Paragons). Some want to go back to the real world while others might want to stay forever. Every PC must agree whether to stay or go, and dead people cannot vote. It can get pretty bloody.

That price for Dying Earth looks wrong (that is, very very expensive) especially for something that doesn’t even include any sort of intro adventure.

It does seem a bit high. The boxed set and modules for Dying Earth is $200 so that is an option as well but doesn't include that box set:

Actually the cost of the boxed set is only $40 plus the level 0 adventure for an extra $7. That looks a little more reasonable (we’ll, if you’re in the US, which I’m not).
